US President Donald Trump was interrupted repeatedly by protesters Wednesday during a rally in San Antonio, Texas, where he campaigned for Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton.
At least nine protesters were removed from the venue, NBC News reported, while White House pool reporters estimated that about 12 people disrupted the event.
No official count was immediately available.
The crowd booed during each interruption as Trump paused his speech, and later broke into chants of "USA!"
"He's going back home to mom right now," Trump said after one interruption near the stage, adding: "What he doesn't know is that his mom voted for Trump."
Minutes later, as another person was removed, Trump said: "That guy's got to lose a lot of weight.”
"You know, many of these protesters are paid," he said while a protester was being removed. "These are paid protesters. They're paid by enemies of our nation."
"If there are any more paid protesters, please raise your hand and get the hell out of here," he added.
Turning to his agenda, Trump said his administration had found "billions and billions of dollars" that were supposed to be spent on improving Medicare but never were.
"We're giving that money back to American seniors, as I promised," he said.
"I'm pleased to announce that starting tomorrow, over 20 million seniors on Medicare will receive checks or deposits for over $100 each," he said, adding that more than 1.4 million of them are in Texas.
He also repeated his pledge to send $5,000 to every adult US citizen if Republicans win both the House and Senate in November's midterm elections.
"Everything I said, you're going to get. You're going to get the 5,000, and you deserve it," he said.
