Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi discussed recent regional developments on Thursday.
Dar emphasized the importance of “sustained dialogue and diplomacy to address outstanding issues,” according to a statement from the Pakistani Foreign Ministry.
He also highlighted the need for all parties to remain constructively engaged, reaffirming that active and sustained diplomatic efforts are essential to achieving lasting peace, security and stability in the region.
Dar also spoke by phone with his Omani counterpart, Badr Albusaidi, earlier in the day. The two officials discussed recent regional and international developments. Albusaidi also held a separate phone call with Araghchi on Thursday.
The US and Israel launched military attacks against Iran on Feb. 28, 2026, before a ceasefire was reached in April and a memorandum of understanding was signed through regional mediation in June.
However, the understandings later broke down, and fighting resumed in July, while diplomatic efforts continue to seek a settlement that would prevent the conflict from spreading across the region.
