Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended on Wednesday at 13,122.58 points, down 5.54% from the previous close.
Starting the third transaction day of the week at 13,868.17 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 769.72 points from Tuesday's close.
The index's lowest value during the day was 12,817.01, while the highest was 13,877.35.
The total market value of BIST 100 was around 12.77 trillion Turkish liras ($263.02 billion), with a daily trading volume of 262.4 billion Turkish liras ($5.39 billion).
During the day, 95 stocks on the index fell and five rose, compared to the previous close.
The price of an ounce of gold was $4,350.85, while Brent crude oil futures sold for around $104.85 per barrel as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 48.6577, the euro/lira 56.1850, while the British pound traded at 65.5210 liras.
