Germany on Friday condemned recent attacks on Saudi Arabia by the Houthi group in Yemen, saying the kingdom has the right to defend its territory and protect its people.
“We strongly condemn the recent Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia,” the German Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on social media.
“Saudi Arabia has the right to defend its territory and protect its people against these acts of terror,” the ministry added.
It said Germany stands “in full solidarity” with Saudi Arabia and called on the Houthis “to immediately cease all attacks.”
The statement followed a fresh wave of Houthi cross-border strikes. Saudi Arabia said Friday that three citizens were killed in two attacks on Thursday targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
