Turkish dailies covered on Wednesday Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi's reply to ultimatum issued by army in Egypt, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's evaluations about Lice event and solution, election of Turkish parliament speaker and protests against the massacre in Madimak of Sivas province 20 years ago.
All the dailies covered Wednesday Morsi's reply to the ultimatum issued by army saying Morsi government has 48 hours to solve the problems. Daily HURRIYET headlined "Morsi not compansate in Egypt" and published that six ministers resigned in Egypt and Egyptian army issued an ultimatum and gave 48 hours to Morsi to come to an agreement with opposition, but Morsi declined it. Daily YENI SAFAK titled "Morsi: We paid heavy price to found a new state. The only way is democracy" by saying that gangs killed seven supporters of Morsi in Cairo. Egypt's General Stuff threatened saying "Compromise as soon as possible or...". "Morsi: We resist intervention in democracy" titled by daily STAR by stating that Morsi said, the army made such an explanation without consulting to the president and Egypt established a civil and democratic regime in January 2011.
- Turkish PM Erdogan evaluated Lice event in southeastern province of Diyarbakir and solution process
Almost all of the dailies also covered Erdogan's evaluations about the event in Lice. Daily AKIT headlined statement of Erdogan who said, "Should we need permission to build a military post?" and published that Erdogan expressed, a bloody trade composing of hashish and drugs lied behind Lice event. Daily STAR headlined "No sabotages can swerve us from solution process" and published that Erdogan said, Lice events broke out due to securtiy forces' operations against illicit drugs, not due to outpost constructions, adding "We cannot ignore illegal actions and also give up solution process." Daily SABAH titled "Hashish lies behind Lice" and quoted Erdogan as saying 'Lice is not an ordinary event and it indirectly has its roots in hashish and jute.'
- Election of Turkish parliament speaker
Dailies covered the re-election of Turkish Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek. Daily ZAMAN headlined "Cicek gets chosen as parliament speaker for the second time" saying Cemil Cicek, an MP from the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party, was reelected parliament speaker, winning 299 votes in the third round.
- Protests against the massacre in Madimak of Sivas province 20 years ago
Dailies also covered the protests against the massacre in Madimak Hotel in central Anatolia province of Sivas that took place 20 years ago. Daily MILLIYET titled "Madimak is sum of all massacres" publishing that thousands of people gathered on 20th anniversary of Madimak tragedy in Sivas, and as it was not named 'Museum of Shame', families declined to enter the building where the event took place that claimed lives of 33 people inside the hotel and two hotel personnel.
