BAKU (AA) - August 7, 2012 - Azerbaijan's Embassy in Syria was evacuated.
Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman Elman Abdullayev told AA on Tuesday that Azerbaijani ambassador in Damascus and the embassy staff left Syria due to clashes and unrest in the country.
Abdullayev said that there were no Azerbaijani citizens staying in Syria, adding that it was not clear when the embassy personnel would resume working.
