Trump hosts world leaders at reception on sidelines of UN General Assembly

US President Donald Trump hosted world leaders at an official diplomatic reception in New York late Tuesday on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

The private event, hosted at the Lotte New York Palace on Madison Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, brought together visiting heads of state, government delegations and accompanying spouses taking part in the General Debate high-level week.

Organizers held the gathering entirely closed to the press, and officials did not immediately release details regarding bilateral discussions, attendee remarks or guest rosters.

The annual reception serves as a traditional host-nation engagement for visiting world leaders during the opening days of the UN General Assembly’s General Debate.
